She Can {Overachiever Edition}

My first three kids were, definitionally speaking, gross motor skilled delayed.  Meaning, they didn't MOVE at the same time that most babies do!

Noah didn't crawl until he was a year.
He walked at 15 months.

Emily began army crawling around 10 months.
She crawled on all fours around a year.
She, too, walked at 15 months.

Molly began to move a bit quicker than the previous two.
Her army crawl began around 8 months.
She walked on her 1st birthday!

I have always loved that my kids have been "underachievers" in the early movement department.  It keeps them little longer... and holding on to the little is something I savor.

But our littlest girl...
she is proving to be an overachiever in the movement department!

In the short span of about 3 weeks, she pulled out all the big moves!  It happened so quickly that I am only just now getting a chance to soak it all in.

{8.27.12}
She Can SIT UP unassisted when placed in a sitting position

{8.27.12}
She Can GET ON ALL FOUR'S by herself and rock back and forth... ready to move!

{9.5.12}
She Can ROLL and put herself in a sitting position ON HER OWN

{9.7.12}
She Can CRAWL... on all FOUR'S

{9.15.12}
She Can PULL TO A STAND in her bed

{9.23.12}
She Can PULL UP on anything in her reach

So for anyone keeping track...

Abby, the overachiever, completely SKIPPED the butt scoot and the army crawl and went straight to all-four's crawling.... at 6 1/2 months!

And while she can't totally stand unassisted quite yet, she is close.
Too close.

And that means that little miss overachiever will likely be walking soon.  Too soon!  Much, much too soon for this sentimental mama.

Because in my mind, she should still be like this...

Teeny.
Tiny.
Brand new.
Curled up in my arms.

But, alas, time has marched on.  And my teeny, tiny, brand new baby is no longer curled up in my arms.

Instead, she is overachieving...

Rolling.
Sitting.
Crawling.
Pulling Up.

Growing Up.

Overachieving.
