Two Years

My dear Emily Kate,

Two years ago...

A dream I dreamed for a long time came TRUE!

I held you, my baby GIRL, in my arms for the first time.

You were healthy and pink and had sweet round cheeks...

And a head full of dark hair that stood straight up!

Two years ago, on December 23rd, you - my sweet, precious, dream-come-true Emily Kate - were born, and my life has not ever been the same!

I've enjoyed...

two years of PINK everything...

two years of snuggly sweet cuddles...

two years of playing "dress up" and shopping for special clothes....

two years of hair bows and "girly" accessories...

two years of watching a brother/sister relationship bloom...

two years of the sweetest smile ever...

two years of dreaming about our special mother-daughter bond that will grow and develop over the years...

two years of soaking up every bit of your sweetness...

two years of celebrating "firsts" and special occasions with you...

two years of thanking Jesus for entrusting you to my care and praying for your safety and health each and every day of your life...

For two years, I've marveled as I watched you grow, change, develop a personality, learn new things, become your own little person...

So many times, I've wished that I could somehow make time stand still so that I could enjoy your baby-ness, your little-ness, your sweet-ness for just a bit longer...

You are growing so fast and are no longer a baby.

Now you are two, and you are becoming a little girl.

But no matter how many years pass or how old you are, you will always be my dream come true and my sweet baby girl!

I love you more and more with each passing day and I look forward to continuing to watch you grow, change, and develop for many, many more years.

Happy 2nd Birthday, baby girl!

Love,
Mommy

Happy Birthday Emily!

She is a precious little doll, and I love the birthday pictures! Soon your little girl will be teaching her baby sister all about life. Enjoy these early years. Before you know it, she'll be in school and chasing boys!
